
About Charles Emond
President and Chief Executive Officer, La Caisse
President and Chief Executive Officer, Charles Emond is responsible for setting the strategic direction of La Caisse and positioning the institution in Québec and international markets to deliver optimal performance for its depositors.
Since stepping into his role in 2020, he has created a unifying culture to mobilize teams and implemented several initiatives to transform the portfolio to perform well in a complex environment and position La Caisse for the future. In addition to taking the organization even further in terms of its role and impact in Québec, he expanded its international standing through a concerted approach that leverages the organization’s broad network to seize the best opportunities. He also led the execution and commissioning of the REM, a historic transportation project, and raised the level of La Caisse’s ESG ambitions and leadership in sustainable investing.
Prior to this, he held the position of Executive Vice-President, Québec, Private Equity and Strategic Planning.
Before joining La Caisse in 2019, Mr. Emond worked for nearly 20 years at Scotia Bank and Scotia Capital, where he held the positions of Executive Vice-President, Financial Affairs and Global Head, Investment Banking and Capital Markets, in addition to serving as the Chairman of the Board of Jarislowsky Fraser.
He is a graduate of HEC Montréal and holds the FCPA and Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designations.
