About Katherine Tweedie
Country Head, Canada, Ninety One
Katherine is Head of Canada for Ninety One. Katherine has been responsible for the creation and build of Ninety One’s business in Canada, today partnering with an established client base of Canada’s leading public and corporate pension plans and endowments.
Katherine joined Ninety One in 2012 to develop the Investment Institute, Ninety One’s strategic partner and global insights platform which today forms a key part of Ninety One’s Multi-Asset team.
Katherine was formerly a Director and Head of Africa for the World Economic Forum where she was responsible for CEO and government engagement at Davos. She spent several years working in private equity for a high-net-worth family office and began her career in investment banking and private equity in Toronto with BMO Nesbitt Burns and CIBC Capital Markets.
Katherine holds a Master’s degree from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, where she was selected as an Edward S. Mason Fellow and awarded the Raymond & Josephine Vernon and Lucius Littauer Awards for leadership and academic excellence. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) in Finance and Economics from the University of Victoria and Series 7 and Series 63 FINRA licenses in the US.
Katherine is an Aspen Institute Finance Leaders Fellow and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. She currently serves on the Board of Women’s College Hospital Foundation in Toronto.
In her personal time she is an active athlete spanning multiple sports – enjoying skiing to horse riding. Katherine is a 4 time Ironman Triathlon finisher including 1st place age group wins and a top 7 place in the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii.
