About Katherine Tweedie

Country Head, Canada, Ninety One

Katherine is Head of Canada for Ninety One, a global asset manager overseeing US$190 billion in AUM. Katherine and her team work with a broad cross-section of institutional investors, leveraging Ninety One’s expertise in emerging markets and sustainable investing.

Katherine brings more than 20 years of global investment experience spanning investment banking, private equity and asset management. Her career began in Toronto with BMO Nesbitt Burns and CIBC Capital Markets then a Family Office based in London and Johannesburg. Prior to joining Ninety One in 2012, Katherine was a Director and Head of Africa at the World Economic Forum in Geneva.

Katherine holds a Master’s degree from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) in Finance and Economics from the University of Victoria.

She supports a number of philanthropic and leadership initiatives including serving on the Board and Investment Committee of Women’s College Hospital Foundation in Toronto and representing Ninety One on the Board of the Investor Leadership Network, a G7 initiative of the Canadian government. Katherine is an Aspen Institute Finance Leaders Fellow and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.

In her spare time, Katherine is an avid athlete across multiple sports. She holds several first place age group Ironman Triathlon wins and a top 7 finish at the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii.
